Silverians join Deped’s two-week Election Break
Grade 6 Mentors prepare for 2022 Graduation Rites
The Department of Education declared no classes for two weeks, May 2 to 13, to give Teachers who would serve, ample time to prepare, in the 2022 National and Local Elections come May 9.
The learners were given learning activities for them to study and accomplish during the two weeks break.
The Electoral Board underwent a two-day trainings sponsored by the Comelec in Las Pinas City on March 16 and 17 and a briefing with Dr. Evangeline Ladines, CESO 5, on April 22.
Meanwhile, Silverian teachers served diligently in the thirteen (13) cluster polling precincts assigned in the school on Election day, May 9.
The Election 2022 was done successfully and peacefully by all the Silverian members of Electoral Boards.(EBs)
Prior to this, the teachers had the final testing and sealing of the vote counting machine (VCM) on Wednesday, May 4 , checked the ballots and got the election paraphernalia from the City Hall on Sunday, May 8 , from 7 to 11 in the morning.
Furthermore, the school, especially the classrooms used as voting places were cleaned and disinfected by the non- teaching personnel with the supervision of the School Head, Mrs. Marites Coballes, to ensure that those would be ready and safe for both the children and teachers on Monday, May 16, the resumption of classes.
On the other issue, the Grade 6 mentors with the Master Teachers and the Principal had a virtual meeting on Saturday, May 14, to talk about preparations and other concerns in the forthcoming Commencement Exercises come this last week of June. It would be decided if the face-to-face graduation would be allowed, hence, the school is awaiting for the memo from the Division Office.
Meeting with the Grade 6 parents was also set to discuss graduation matters next week. /mjf05152022
