GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT (GAD) PROGRAM
Men and women play important roles and have differing degrees of power in society , and this affects their access to and control of resources and opportunities ,as well as their vulnerability. Yet despite extensive research on gender in the context of sustainable development, gender issues are often neglected or poorly addressed in development policy and practice. Many interventions fail to recognize gender differences , while others oversimplify or fall back on stereotypes.
A child protection policy was also discussed. It is designed to protect children from abuse and exploitation especially in these trying times. We, parents , adults and teachers must lead in handling such concerns to protect each child and to help them appreciate the new normal set up.
“Covid 19 has intensified and exaggerated fault lines in contemporary societies revealing back to us our ways of dealing with inequality “
-Julian Sefton – Green , UNESCO Futures of Education Ideas LAB
The San Antonio Elementary School -Silverio with the coordination of the different agencies especially the DepEd aims to narrow this gap between knowledge ,policy and practice , both by exploring specific gender issues , by explicitly addressing gender differences across a broad range of environment and development -focused studies.
The said issues will be studied and given solution by identifying first the most common encountered issues in the community. It must be thoroughly comprehended by the implementing persons like teachers, GPTA officers, SPG officers before the program and activities run to its community distinctions.
Thru this activity , everybody was enlightened for the topic discussed and it really changed someone’s perspective into a widely understanding principles and Godly mission.
