The School Principal, Mrs. Marites Coballes, with the school Reading Coordinator and Proponent of I am Ready, School Reading Program, Dr. Jovelyn Milaor, along with other reading focal persons, Mrs. Airene Tormes, and Mr. Raven Matias, School BE action chair, Mrs. Judilyn Umbaña, met with the reading facilitator volunteers to discuss, “Ang noPaano ng Pagpapabasa, an Orientation with the Reading Volunteers.” In attendance and have pledged their support are Engr. Brixvon P. Cruz, PATTS Student Affairs and SOCI Officer, Miss Liza Fernandez, Datamex NSTP Coordinator and Police Colonel Renato Batoon Ocampo, Paranaque Chief of Police. Earlier, virtual orientation on all Brigada Pagbasa Volunteers was conducted in preparation for the 15- Saturday school-based Reading Enhancement that gained support from different private and public sectors. In related news, toy donations for “Toys for Reading” poured in as Mrs. Judilyn Umbaña, actively collected these things that would serve as reward for the readers. Likewise, Dr. Laarni Moreno, PPMS President, donated books last Friday, January 27. Brigada Pagbasa is being implemented in all schools in the city with the purpose of “Bawat Batang Parañaqueño, Bumabasa.” XxxxxxxxxX
SilvES conducts unannounced Earthquake Drill
With the assistance of all the teachers involved headed by Mrs. Cristy Dela Cruz, School DRRM Coordinator, an unannounced earthquake drill was executed to test the pupils, from first to third shift classes, of their readiness once the tremor occurs. Mrs. Dela Cruz oriented the Set A classes why the school is doing this kind of activity. Mrs. Marites Coballes spoke before the drill participants of the importance of being ready and composed when such crises arise. Learners take Second Quarterly Test
Test questionnaires are prepared and ready for the Second Periodical Test set on January 24 and 25, Tuesday and Wednesday, for Set A learners and January 26 and 27, Thursday and Friday, for the Set B pupils. Barangay Health Workers install OL Trap
A group of Barangay Health Workers installed OL traps in every classroom’s corner, with the permission of the School Head, Mrs. Marites Coballes, last Tuesday, January 24. Mrs. Coballes reminded the teachers to inform their pupils of its purpose and to be safe from the OL Traps that were being put up. OL trap is a device used to control the Aedes mosquito population. It can monitor, control and detect the Aedes mosquito population which preempts any impending dengue outbreak. XxxxxxxxxxX
SilvES observes Clean-Up Drive Week
This week, January 23 to 28 is a Clean-Up Drive Week that Silverians observed by cleaning the classrooms, proper waste disposal and observing cleanliness and orderliness in the school. The principal, Mrs. Marites Coballes, reminded everyone to clean the classrooms and structure the displays well. Teachers had taught the children the value and importance of having a spic and span environment, integrated in their lessons as the clean- up drive days are ongoing. XxxxxxxxxxxX < 15- Saturday BP commences successfully The first Saturday of Brigada Pagbasa which began on January 28, can be considered a successful undertaking for which 97 pupils, 26 teachers and 103 supportive volunteers attended the said program. Volunteers from Regis Marie School, DATAMEX, Paranaque Police and individual volunteers eagerly facilitated the Brigada Pagbasa from Grades 1 to 6 at 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Snacks were served courtesy of generous sponsors from Section Milaor and the Office of the Principal. This reading endeavor, that is aligned to the Division’s mission, is being conducted to have a zero non- reader in the city hence, the purpose, “Bawat Batang Parañaqueño, Bumabasa.” XxxxxxxxxxxX
BSP Silverio joins First Area Advancement Camp
Scout Masters Dr. Mario Madriaga, Mark Raven Matias and School BSP Coordinator, Analie Parallag, with six (6) boy scout pupils, attended a three-day Division Advancement Camp, from January 27- 28 at Laguna Patio Resort with the District 5 Supervisor, Dr. Corazon Javier. With the theme, “Scouts… Creating a Better World,” the boy scouts enjoyed a lot and gained new experiences during the three-day encampment, with the supervision of the three mentioned scoutmasters.
